FWIW, I and 2 of my friends own 1200SE Griso. They have all been very well looked after over many years . 2 have had no issues apart from routine replacements of service parts. 1 has been dogged by electrical issues from day 1, including the ecu failing which I’m told is now very hard to replace. The only stand out feature is that the problematic bike was one of the last UK bikes sold and had stood around a long time in a dealers. I’d be inclined to be a bit Ducati in buying a Griso and get one which has been pampered, not seen too much winter riding. Then keep your fingers crossed. Like so many Guzzis, they are worth the effort
@Alanbus the ecu is the Magneto Marelli 5AM with HW610 on the label same as used in many Ducati e.g. 748.
As Ducati break quicker than Guzzi those ecu come on the market cheapish. You will need Guzzi Diag, the cables to connect and either a Moto Guzzi map or a (better) beetle map to overwrite the Ducati one.

Thanks for that info, didn’t know they were the same unit. My mate got a refurbished one that failed after a year and it was very expensive. My G has a Beetle map and it is an improvement over the std.
