I may be mistaken…but in one of his books…some mention was made of a perceived problem with concentrating for long periods…hence why they were going to try sending him off to do endurance races…?..dont think I imagined this but you never know…no mention made of tea…
So it’s not just me!
I find this is the case with most TV these days, especially programmes like this. And have you ever watched a ‘Horizon’ recently? They cut to the chase in the last 10 minutes, the previous 50 are repetitive padding, like we’re all morons who need constant reminders of what was said 5 minutes previously. I seldom watch the box these days, especially commercial TV, and found myself switching GM off after an hour. I’d even recorded it so I could zap the ads…
I doubt the bloke himself could sit through the whole boring thing.
Al.
Radio 4 and 5 are now as bad, I don’t know if the quality of presenter has diminished or the perceived quality of the audience.
Miles Jupp has replaced Sandi Toksvig on the News Quiz. I realise Sandi might not be everyone’s cup of tea (definitely mine) but she is funny and intelligent.
Miles Jupp is less funny than Little Britain.
That welsh chap, gareth is it,did my head in,ruined the programme-apart from him not bad at all.Nothing against the welsh.Presentation style not suitable, the politest way I can put it !.
Just overlong, all TV these days is stretched out to the max, even the news. They tell you the points that are going to be covered, then go over them in more detail, then have a roundup of what has been said twice already. The weather is as bad, three quarters of the bulletin is telling you what has already happened, jeez, these folk are on 100k a year!! I could go on…
If the GM programme had been limited to an hour, all might have been well. But the sad fact is that GM, despite having balls of steel, is getting to be a parody of himself. I have the final hour recorded, but just can’t summon up the interest to watch it… Spring is here and the TV can gather dust in the corner…
Guy was keen to have another run, as I said above, but the restrictions of live TV put an end to that. When will anyone else (or Guy) get that chance again? Shortsighted director put the brakes on an unobtanium world record.
OK as unfunny for the same reason.
He relies on a repetitive method of talking to trigger laughter rather than actual humour.
And he isn’t very bright either.
