Guzzi Strada 750 running

Just bought the Strada and was ticking over fine and reving clean. Then I swiched the fuel taps off and then back on again an hour or two later. Then the next day tried to start it and was running rough and wouldn’t tick over. Would the carbs have flooded and filled the engine with fuel
The silencers seamed to be leaking fuel and oil from the bleed holes. Is this a common issue with the carb models if the floats stick Any ideas?

what type of fuel have you put in the motorcycle ?
E10 can do nasty things to the rubber parts

It’s never a good idea to leave a bike with the fuel taps left on. The floats should stop the flow of fuel, but they are likely to be 30 years old and maybe don’t work as well as when they were new. Replacement parts are available from Eurocarb.

As I have said just got the bike and the tank was empty I only put E5 in all my classic bikes
Know what you are saying about leaving taps on carburated bikes. Just wondered if left on would it flood the cylinders and mix with the oil. Is it possible on these Guzzis

if the taps have failed or seized open, then it could flood the engine
had a friends Kawasaki do this
how much fuel is left in the tank ?
have you checked the oil level ?
if the machine has not been used very much, things tend to stick and seize
seen that with far too many garage queens
but the Guzzi is a simple design and easy enough to sort out
