Thinking of changing brake fluid on my Strada 750 As it’s a dual breaking system what is the procedure when draining and bleading the system
Ken
I found a vacuum pump worked well for renewing the fluid, easier if you have a second person topping up the master cylinder reservoir. Vacuum pumps can be Bought quite cheaply now, you connect it to the bleed nipple & pull the old fluid out until you notice a change in colour when the new fluid is drawn through.
I do the left front first (this is operated by the pedal) then the rear. Then the front right is a stand alone system from the handlebar lever.
Thanks for the info

has the machine been stored for any length of time !
if so I would recommend as well as changing the brake fluid, and checking the seals
fork oil change, and check the seals
clean and grease head bearings
swing arm bearings
strip clean and grease clutch operating arm, and replace the seal
change engine oil and filter
gearbox oil
check the drive shaft gaiter, and replace the oil seal on the output shaft spline ( it will go hard and later on leak) and drop a teaspoonful of oil in to keep it lubed and stop rust
and most important change the oil in the bevel housing
plus clean and repack wheel bearings
new plugs and set tappets
and if tubed tyres, replace the inner tubes for good quality ones
also replace all flexible fuel lines as a matter of course
and examine flexible brake hoses for deterioration
it will last forever then
much better to do it over the cold winter than by the side of the road
I dotn bother any more I have a good motorcycle engineer i trust and he services it for me
