1st time for me so I’m only doing the 275 miler but hats off to those doing the full 590 PLUS special tests
When I was looking for suppliers for this via Google I came across one which explains what an oil pressure switch and warning light is for, quote “should go out after you start the engine, if it does not then there is a problem” or words to that effect, in other words switch off immediately and don’t drive the vehicle. Although if it does appear while actually moving and you do respond immediately (kill switch), you might be able to limit the damage. Or not…
The Guzzi ones go out when the starter whirrs up let alone engine fires
Tris no worries I tend to "belt and Braces " stuff and ANY wet joint I use PTFE tape it really makes sure that NO oil/Hydraulic fluid/water leaks from any joint cheap enough and easy to use
As a note alot of the Guzzi "ancilliaries are car parts
Distributor is off a Fiat
Oil Switch is a car one
Many of the Bosch stuff is also fitted to BMW/Laverda and other bikes
Early brake parts are also fitted to alot of other bikes like Ducati/BMW/Laverda/Benelli
The later brake parts can also be found on Aprillia/Ducati
The points are available from car parts places …
The “Got one of these mate!” wiorks …its from an old Fi -ate
Even the newer tiny micro switches on the clutch and brake lever are available from places like Maplins
Relays and the micro switxch also from “PyroDan” who is utterly brilliant
Many of the "Cycle parts can be foune on other bikes heck even the “Cali” sidestand is also the same as a Harley one…quite who copied who is debatable even Harley guys at Daytona reconed Harley copied Guzzi…go figure.
Brake parts are often standard Brembo fittings and do come up on manyother bikes even the hard to get ones can be found from HONDA…
It is well worth really looking at other bikes and the "said cycle parts keeps you busy
Switchgear on the V11 Le Mans is the same as fitted to a Honda Firestorm by the wayguzzibear2013-07-04 18:45:41
