Does anyone have experience of these? Parts dealer suggests “moving” pillion footrests forward, but have no idea how this would be done. Need to be able to carry a pillion with panniers mounted. Any experience or suggestions welcome .
Can you better describe the problem? A T3 is quite commonly equipped with luggage and is still perfectly capable of carrying a passenger. With a Hepco & Becker frame/rear carrier and either soft or hard panniers, I can’t imagine you would need to adjust anything in the footrest department. Unless, of course, you have a specific and uncommon set of circumstances…
With Hepco and Becker frames on older guzzis (and indeed also on my 750 Breva) the panniers sit quite low and close to the pillion pegs making it very difficult for the pillion to put more than the edge of a heel on the peg. Since posting, I’ve discovered there are universal pillion footpeg lowering fittings, which might do the job.
This image suggests the panniers mount onto the usual pillion footrest bolts, which have been moved forward. Not a well thought out idea!
that (Moto-Bins) image actually shows a V1000 i think. i believe they had a different footrest arrangement: pilot peg from a bracket on the lower frame rail, passenger from the triangular plate as per T3 California. ? could be wrong.
Another possible solution: the Polizia T3 had, I think, a pilot rest only version of the bracket shown in the opening post, and add then the triangular plate as per T3 Cali - which arrangement clears the T3 Cali pannier frames, but can’t speak to the H&B arrangement.
Or source some V1000/G5 frame rails - see parts books for possibilities!
