Hi Guys. Tonight’s FSQ I’m afraid. My 2021 V7 stone. Does the bike need to be running rather than just the ignition on for the pass/high beam switch to work. Mine seems to just turn the headlight off when I press it. I couldn’t run the bike as it kicks the dog off when it’s in the garage so will need to wait until tomorrow. Apologies for such a basic Q but am a bit stumped. Cheers.
Also, does the end 10a fuse protecting them have a permanent feed to it or only when the circuit is closed? I ask as I was going to run a piggy back fuse off it but thought it might not have a perm current when the ignition is on due to it being for the horn etc.
While I’m at it. How on earth do you access the bulb on the eagle headlight!! No manual appears to show it.
isn’t it an led, so sealed unit?
No idea Sid. Makes sense to be honest. Therefore it’s the main beam issue just to solve . Thanks for replying.
On my 2022 V85tt the headlight only comes on when the alternator is charging.
It was the same on my 2008 GRiSO so i would expect that on all Guzzi’s now.
Cheers Johnny. I’m going to go out on it after so will check and repost. Thanks for the reply mate. Feel like a new rider
Well guys you are all right. Sealed unit and all works when the bike is running. Thanks for the advice and reassurance.
it will also come on if you push the bike with ignition on but engine stopped
Ha thanks Sid. That won’t be happening. I’d look even more like a wally than I did in my dressing gown last night looking at how to change the bulb thanks
A bit of an issue is not being able to easily test if the headlight works without starting it up. Mine’s blown 2 bulbs so far but wouldn’t have known unless getting off it while it’s still idling (and, take notice!), or pass my hand in front of the headlight. I do that before every ride now (also check all the other lights work, but that’s only because of having owned a Ural )
Ha that’s so true. I will be doing that myself in future. I spent most of today’s little ride flashing every time I had the chance just to check it . Love the Urals though.
