Yes I got ear plugs - but don’t really like wearing them.
Maybe I should just get better ones? Any recommendations?
I don’t want to make the silencers, err silent. Just reduce the ear-splitting, cat scaring, glass shattering noise (well, happy to keep the cat scaring bit).
Firstly, wind noise in your helmet (unless it is a Davida so I am told) alone makes earplugs a good idea. They take a little getting used to but better than Tinitus anyday. The ones I preffer are the Blue foodsafe one like christmas trees gone floppy. Just to let you know where I come from in terms of music, I used to get up at 04:00 to start work at 05:00. My alarm of choice was a pig farmer who used to ride his MHR past my flat with burbling Conti’s at 03:45.
Mine came with them on... can be freakin' loud yes, especially in towns.
They sound great but are just too loud really. I don’t want to just stuff silencer wadding inside, as I expect it’ll just blow through, anyway.
Tried that with wire wool in other silencers, it just disappears! Sounds like you need the stock type? Maybe Armours of Bournemouth might still have them, will be in stainless
I took my Lafranconi Competiziones off my Cali and put back on the pair of Mistrals which I bought from Guy a few years ago. Though I’ve dented them, they have a lovely sound and performance. If anyone wants to buy the almost straight-through loud Lafranconis they are going up for sale!
this is held up against my Le Mans. The backs of them are a bit rusty, it cleans off easily as they’re supposed to be stainless steel. As you can see, there are a few dings too. They don’t have propellers, just very tiny serrations that are supposed to baffle the racket. They are stamped Lafrancone Competizione -Offers welcome…
