I know I shouldn't like air in my brake fluid but..

I’m not really thinking of fitting squishy old brake lines just playing devil’s advocate  . I’ve previously only had bikes with modern discs or old drum brakes so I have no doubt that everyone who recommends braided brake lines is right.
Can’t afford new carriers or levers at the moment, or upgrading to F09 caliper as suggested by Guzziology (powerful and spongy), so for a cheap fix I’ll have a go at filing the levers, will try a little at a time as a test.

Yeah if you get to a point where the lever comes back to the bars and the bike is none too keen to retard you’ll be wanting to file some of that material back on.

And extremely quickly too.

Got me wondering if there might actually be a market for soggy brake lines on eBay now though. Probably needs a better descriptive than ‘soggy’ though … ?

Slightly damp but still useable.
Like a LibDem but still not past it’s sell by date.
Moist and gives a good ride quality.
There are others.

Limp wristed and easy to live with …

Perhaps braking, with feeling. Having risked my life with old British drum brakes there is something to be said for a less than perfect system, you do tend to leave sufficient room in case it all goes pear shaped.

You mean learning to anticipate the traffic.
Yup, been there.

When you ride an Eldorado, you need second sight!
