Indian made alloy tanks

,

Anyone had any luck with the Indian made alloy tanks?

I have a 1980 T3 that I’m thnking of buying one for

A mate of mine bought one on ebay for his LM3. It was supposed to be the same as a LM1 but was a poor fit and didn’t look anything like the photos. He had to send it back and lost money on the damn thing.

Try and find an agent/uk suppler who imports them , I’ve seen them being sold at auto jumbles such as kempton park , it would probably more expense than e-bay but at least you would see it before you paid for it !

Not Guzzi, and not alloy, so probably not much help, but a mate bought a steel tank from India via e-bay for a Yamaha 350 ypvs.

Total rubbish, poorly made, didn’t fit, and a nightmare to get refunded.

I have an Indian made Aluminium Alloy LM2 tank fitted to my Bellagio and it is fine. About 4 years old. Some geeky mates think it is not an accurate LM2 copy, but I think it looks looks lovely.

Hello, in my humble experience, don’t do it.
I bought one on ebay ,looked identical to a lm1 tank, when it arrived it was a different matter, underneath it was like they had never seen a guzzi frame.
If it hadn’t been such a waste of money, it would have been funny ,it would have had trouble fitting around a moped frame, it just sat on the top of the frame tube, nothing lined up, nothing was big enough.
And it was £90 to send it back ,so i just sold it to someone as a door stop or similar.
You might be ok, but unless you can hold the one in your hand that you are going to buy, its a gamble with poor odds.
