Is this factory?

I’ve had my 2013 V7 special for just over a year now and i’ve had an ongoing problem which nobody (including this forum) has been able to help with. In short: it runs fine from cold and when it’s warm but then once switched off warm and started again is underpowered and sluggish under 4k rpm. I’ve changed pretty much the entire ignition system from plugs to coils and the fuel filter. No improvement.

However, today whilst messing around with it I realised that this bit looks like it could well be aftermarket. I think it’s a fuel injection compensator. So I have 3 questions:-

  1. is it aftermarket?
  2. What exactly is it for?
  3. Is it likely to be the source of my woes?

Thanks for reading

It could be, there should be a temp sensor if it is one, hopefully someone will confirm if it’s standard or after market, it looks aftermarket to me.

I cannot find the company or the product online.

I agree with Brian that it may be an ecu spoofer like the Mistral V Boost, if so there should be ‘a wire that goes nowhere’ this will be the temperature sensor - make sure that it is as far away as possible from anything that gets hot or warm. That may solve your problem

Yeah it’s odd; I can’t find anything either. I’ll have a look for a temp sensor. I didn’t study it for ages yesterday but noticed a connection to the tank at one end and then two wires going somewhere else from the other end of it. Thanks both.

I found some posts mentioning this product fitted to a bellagio and another bike in guzzitech, but the website requires an account now to read.

As an experiment you could temp disconnect it in order to see if that makes the bike better or indeed worse . It would be interesting to find out the outcome

It could be that the unit is plugged between the air sensor and the loom only.

The connectors will be same.

Disconnect unit if this is the case and plug loom into air sensor
