Just a big shout out

As a relative newbie both to this forum and MG in general and having used various forums over the years I just want to give a huge shout out to MGC GB! A total standout.

I have been massively impressed by the often staggering depth and breadth of experience and knowledge so generously shared here. So many gnarly old buffs (sorry! :face_with_raised_eyebrow: ) always ready to surprise and delight with their accumulated wisdom and guidance to those of us looking for help or simply amplifying the real sense of identity as committed bikers that is apparent here always.

Despite at least five and a half decades of riding and working on my own machines I don’t consider myself even close to many of you guys in insight and analysis of the myriad issues raised here. It’s a bleeding University of motorcycle maintenance!

A privilege to be here and apologies for my eternal wordiness and maybe dumb remarks. Just a great bunch of guys!

Yerse id agree with that ! Ive had sooo much advice and tips over the years ! Because of this help most are willing to contribute freely. Guzzis get under your skin and the designed in ‘challenges’ oddly seem to help being more ‘involved’ - they just stand out from the other offerings - i went to a ‘Riders’ open day on sat and the offerings of Harley, Ducati, Indian - quite nice some them but sooo expensive and around here a bit of a cliche. Dont see many Guzzis when you go out and about !

Ha! Yeah, have met with a couple of the ‘challenges’ in the last two weeks! Worth it even if aggravating. Parmesan cheese disc bolts, now titanium and trying to remove that rear wheel flange with it’s ridiculous torqued tightness! Broke a breaker bar!! The sound, the ‘feel’ and absolutely the looks. just does it for me.

Totally agree with you Philabeg51. My First Guzzi , had it for over 2 years and yes they do get under your skin. First time I have attempted servicing and even doing valve clearance checks, thanks to a great group of enthusiastic and skilled members. Let me join you in offering my thanks as well.

Im really impressed with this group. If I ask anything in the Yamaha Tracer 9 owners group no one replies, unless someone replies telling me to take it to a dealership. If I ask in the Suzuki GS owners group I get someone telling me im an idiot for not having an encyclopedic knowledge of the bike. In this group, I ask a question, I get cheery, helpful replies and usually a few bonus tips about challenges i may encounter in the job.

Guzzi people are wired differently, just like the bikes!
