So, I was about to fit some crash bars to the Stelvio when I noticed this.
Off to the dealers next Friday to see what they say but in the meantime, ideas?
What are we supposed to be noticing? It may be obvious, perhaps, to others but nothing looks amiss to me.
Oh wait, the red liquid?
I had that, make sure water level is correct & not overful.
Possible issue with hose clips should be sorted under warranty.
Difficult to believe the coolant leak issues. still persists with the Stelvio. V100 owners well aware of those. There were 2 variants, the faulty radiator cap and the cheap hose clamp variant. Your case looks like hose clips.
Guzzi should be ashamed for not getting rid of that , over 2 yea into production of the compact block engine. To me is seems complete and utter disregard on their part
I’d be concerned about that corrosion on the edge of the engine casing too. It’s never going to get better without a lot help.
That is identical to what I had. Hose clamp. Drips on a cold start up, once a bit of heat gets into the coolant it expands the rubber hose enough to seal. Got my dealer to replace clamp with an old fashioned jubilee Clip. Problem solved. ( The coolant drips down and pools in the area shown, the leak is at the hose clamp above it, not shown in pic)
We likes a nice simple fix
Easy enough to check if your willing to get down on your knees and look at clamp as you start bike. Needs to be a cold start though.
I had exactly the same thing on my Mandello S. Turned out the actual cooling water pump (?) was deformed. Job was done under warranty and I wasn’t the first.
Mine was the thermostat housing. It turnedout that the O-ring between the two parts of the housing was missing, and had just been filled with some sort of sealant! I presume that once the coolant had gone, it overheated and distorted the housing (Never saw any warning of overheating on the dash, though.)
All replaced under warranty, with a wait of “only” 3 weeks for the part to arrive from Italy!
