Hi, I got only one key with my bike (2000 Cali 11) and have since acquired a proper ‘blank’ from GutsiBits. I don’t think there’s any clever transponder etc in there. Is it then as simple as going to Timpsons etc to be cut? I suppose I’m not super-confident they won’t mess it up, and is there a better way…? (I did message ‘keysinthepost’which I found on the forum but no reply so far)
Any key cutting outfit should be able to do it, most of them have the blanks in stock,
(ZADI I think)![]()
I have had Timpsons cut Guzzi keys for me succesfully, but i have had to supply the blanks as they didn’t recognise it.
Surely a 2000 bike wouldn’t be a Cali 2? I have a 1988 Cali 3, I thought they were onto the EV models etc by 2000?
Many Thanks Guys, I’ll give it a go then. Took a month to get the correct blank (£25 from GutsiBits) so don’t want to waste it, My bad, what I typed is supposed to be ‘eleven’ (hundred cc), not ‘two’. ![]()
But I am a bit baffled what I’ve got, nowhere does it say (Cali) 3 or EV, just California Special. Looking through the many parts catalogs GutsiBits kindly sent, I can’t seem to find the exact bike, seems kind of a ‘bitsa’ from other models.
That’s very similar, perhaps mechanically identical. But mine has a silver engine and a lot more chrome. My understanding is that the ‘Special’ (mine) preceded the ‘Special Sport’… or was there a choice at the time? Who knows ![]()
This is my EV110 2005 reg. I shall popo down with a few other MG riders in the spring or summer next year. You meet in Offham … I was born in Offham, Kent, funny old world.
Sound good.
. Lovely bike. ![]()
