Hi, I was wondering if anyone has had good results with a particular lubricant for their kick stand?
Is that the stiffest kickstand in the whole world?? I’d like to know also mate. ![]()
I use spray-on chain lube.
I use CV grease, it’s black so matches the frame and stand paintwork and it sticks to a blanket.
I use a thick graphite stick (HB) from an artist supplier its soft so you can rub it onto the metal I do have to remove the stand from the bike to get it on all the pivot points but as its in effect a dry lube in does not attract muck and dirt doesn’t stick to it only trouble is if your caught in (HEAVY) rain it washes out, the alternative is wurth dry chain lube!.
On my LeMans, I use a dry graphite powder lubricant normally used by locksmiths on locks. I removed the stand first, then cleaned all the faces with spray brake cleaner. Liberally coat it all including the stand lug then re-assemble. Work it a few times. Re-apply occasionally, in dry conditions.
