Right then chaps.
I just started taking the exhaust off my V 85 TT and i can not for the life of me work out how to unclip the connectors on the sensors. I can see them just after removing the reg rec and horn, but they are tucked away and im stumped.
Any advice or help gladly taken.
Cheers.
Does it look like this?
If it’s the same as at the centre of your first photo (looks like it could be), you will have to release the locking latch, it looks like you press down the tab(s) at the bottom, so the ‘loop’ at top lifts up, inside of it is a ‘hook’ looks exactly the same as in my photo. Or else lift up the ‘loop’ with a small screwdriver.
Bit of an unusual choice of connector maybe, other lambdas for Guzzi’s I’ve looked at use 4-way Superseal connectors (V7’s etc.).
HTH
Thats the one. Thanks for your help i am going to continue fitting the system at the weekend. I really cant believe the weight of the original system. I think the power to weight ratio has just doubled.
LOL.
i think the replacment exhausts usually weigh 5kg less, the original is a boat anchor
Its now all fitted and went on well. The bottom mount (top of the cat) is a straight piece of steel no bushing. It lines up perfectly and i think i will make up a rubber spacer for each side to take up the gap.
Now i just need a nice day to take it for a try.
The fog lifted today so went for a quick raz locally. Oh my god what a massive improvement. I thought it was good with the other mods but its now spinning up smoothly and a lot quicker. The power is there all the way from part throttle to fully open. The whole lot has cost me about £650 with some prudent purchases and i am over the moon.
Full list
Storm end pipe and silencer.
V boost.
China decat pipes.
K and N air filter.
Velocity stack.
Do you need to remap for these mods or will the ECU work out the correct mixture given the information from the sensors?
no remap needed, but they do run better with a remap because euro 4/5 compliance has them running a bit lean.
I fitted all the parts and i have only used a small amount and it runs fine. When and if the weather improves and i get chance for a hoon around the peak district i will report back.
All the reports say fit and forget and it seems correct.
I went for a bit of a run today and i found the bike runs very well. Pulls cleanly from low revs and generally feels like it should have from new. Smells a bit rich at tick over but the petrol is a bit old and im trying to run i out before a refill. I always use Shell or Esso super and never had a problem over winter but this winter has been grim so i have not used Max as much as i would like.
Now for the massive down side! My feet got a bit chilly without the cat.
Cool feet in summer is a real bonus.
So in my opinion a big improvement.
