I am having trouble refitting new fork stanchion , the old ones slid out of fork bottom easily but when I put the new one back it has got stuck about 75mm below the seal . Is there an o ring in the top of the fork bottom that it could be snagging on ? Any suggestions how to free it up and get it out to try again .

I had this problem with a T3. I suggest you measure the diameter of the new and old stanchion. One of the new ones I brought from Stein Dinse was oversize.

Does the yoke have split clamps for the fork with a pinch bolt? If so loosen the bolt fully (or better take it out) and put a steel wedge into the split to open up the diameter slightly. I use a large bladed screw driver covered with cloth so as not to damage the yoke. Best of luck.

Thanks Chris problem is not getting it out of the yoke it is the stanchion stuck in the fork leg bottom
I have now had 2 sets of new stanchions, 1 from stein dinse and 1 from Gutsibits and both have proved to be marginally greater diameter than originals and impossible to slide into fork sliders. Has anyone else had this problem? Thinking only solution is going to be rechroming the originals or am I missing something?
Been there with my G5. Careful and patient application of various grades of wet’n’ dry to the inside of the yokes was the solution in my case. I started with 240 and worked up to 400 grade with 320 in the middle, changing grades as the stanchion went further up in the yoke. As you’d expect, on testing the original stanchion it went in really easily but still gripped properly after the yokes were sanded out to take the new ones (I had to try didn’t I? 
).

Thanks, I have the fun of getting legs back in the yokes still to come so your suggestion is very welcome. My problem has been getting the replacement stanchions into the fork sliders, hopefully rechroming the originals that were pitted will do the trick.
