The inner speedo cable only lasts a few hundred miles.
The curve under the speedometer looks too severe.
It has MK1 racing front end, alloy clock holder and a different headlight.
So does anyone know if the standard MK2 complete cable can be swapped for the MK3 one which is 36mm longer, or should I get a company to make up one, say 50mm longer?
Yes the angle looks far too radical!
Is it possible to raise the clocks or lower the headlight? There are longer cables available not only for Le Mans models but also for tourers, they are the same but different lengths. Ask Gutsibits or Nik Euro Spares.
Best wishes Chris
Had a similar issue with a Honda 250RS, sourced a longer one and was able to re-route successfully, hopefully you’ll be able to do likewise.
The LM2 had 60 degree drive boxes fitted to both speedo and tacho.
Not sure if this is the right one but this is the sort of thing you need
Installed one of the two 90’ bevel boxes I found in the huge pile of spares that came with the bike, and normal service has resumed - sorted.
Curiously the tacho is a Venhill branded cable, with no bevel box. Could be a way forwards as the 90’ boxes seem to get a bad press. I’ve been quoted £36+ vat + postage for a custom length cable. A standard MK2 cable is only £12.50 from Gutsibits.
Thanks for the help guys
