wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this one. Bought a v7II special new in June of this year. Noticed oil deposits on rear wheel just after 600 mile service. Sent back to dealers where new seals in rear transmission were fitted. Oil free for approx 300 miles then same oil “splattering”. Back off to dealers for 2nd set of seals. Only managed a trip to work before same old problem arose. Bike now back in dealers. Lots of head scratching, dealer hasn’t encountered this before. Talk of maybe a “porous” casting??
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
There’s a breather in the plug can be a little pissy, not worth the workshop time in the long run.
I had the rear diff seal replaced on my 08 V7 Special. This was done at just under 10,000 miles. Oil had been splattering all round the rim. There was no further recurrence, and I have just sold it at 16,500 miles.
