Hi
I’m rebuilding a 1957 Lodola 175.
The bike has one simplex cam chain but In the parts list, there are two parts numbers to fit either a Regina chain part No 31189 or an IWIS chain part No 31189/1.
There’s also a choice of two cam chain sprockets as well.
Does anybody know why this is.
Any info would be most appreciated.
Also, did Lodola’s all have 4 ring pistons as I’ve noticed some 3 ring ones available as well. Mines got 4 rings.
Thanks for your time
Kind regards
Paul
Sorry, I have no idea about the chain options.
With regards the pistons I have seen aftermarket manufacturers selling pistons with 3 or 4 rings, I guess it depends on who made it.
If you are after a replacement, I recently came across this company in Italy that offers a decent selection of parts at a very reasonable price. I haven’t ordered anything from them yet.
Thank you for the info, really appreciated.
The pistons on the link you sent me look good value.
I also found this:
Those are 4 ring pistons and quite a bit more expensive.
These places are quite helpful for Lodola parts as well:
Guzzi Retro
Moto Valassi
Moto Giovane
Valenti
Olympia parts
Thanks for your time on this.
Kind regards
Paul
Watch out if ordering a piston that it incldes rings, circlips and gudgeon pins. The Italians have a habit of selling bare pistons with none of the above.
Thanks Don
Good advice!
Cheers
