this one any good

There is one on eBay click here

I have no knowledge of this bike or the seller.

Thanks for the replies, both not for me. Will keep on looking

colour
year
or price wrong ?

Hi there, colour mainly and ideally around 5k maybe more for the right bike. Not sure if I’m being to optimistic on price

These machines are gettting collectable now and good ones are rising in price
5K will buy you a machine, possibly not origional, and needing work, ie crappy old brit silencers, grotty chrome and worn bores and filler

8 to 10 should get you a decent machine
look for originality, check with old catalogues and brochures
for a really good one 10 to 14 grand
and given the cost of restoration, its cheap, plus you can re sell if you dont like it

lots of tatty old bangers out there that will cost you more than they are worth
Worth checking with the netherlands, they are popular over there

correct wheel and rim sizes
correct forks
correct and working instruments ( big money to put right)
good bores ( plated and pricy if worn)
professional engine work with a warranty
correct and original mudguards and side panels, rather than pattern old brit bike rubbish that never fits
smooth gearchange
judder free braking
and overhauled carbs

Add vat, and export costs, plus shipping

Thanks for that, will have a look at that option. I have found this what do you think? https://www.madeinitalymotorcycles.com/post/moto-guzzi-850gt

My honest opinion, if you have a well equipped workshop and plenty of time go for it
I would avoid it like the plague, it needs to much work to be reliable and smart
and during that time you will not be riding it
seen far too many projects in my life time, and had to sort them out for friends
borrow 5k from the bank
at 10 K you will get a nice original or restored motorcycle that will retain its value
buy cheap pay twice

Ok will keep that in mind

If anyone is considering importing this , or similar, VAT is only 5% as its ‘historic’ -
ie
over 40 years
no longer made
not substantially altered.

Tarif is zero

Just spotting this Ambassador for auction on November 12th…
Guide price seems low.

That will be bid up easily, with its restoration history 12k likely
Auctioneers like to keep the guide price low to encourage a sale

It sold for £6900

There’s a few for sale on Car and Classic, ranging from ridden to excellent

Thanks will keep an eye on car and classic.

US import Eldorado currently on eBay.
£3999.

If you’re still looking, this one has just popped up on eBay.
1971 US market civilian Ambassador.
Has been modified with floorboards and MAC silencers.

If you are still looking, a nice loop frame project has come up for sale on Facebook Marketplace

It is in the clubs Buy and Sell group. I don’t think there is another way to share it. This is a screenshot
