Has anyone ever tried to lower this model ?
Gutsibits suggest they can supply shorter rear shocks 300mm rather than the std 320mm and then adjust the forks to match.
I’m only 5 ft and weigh about 9 stone so I don’t deflect the suspension very much.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Surely you don’t need to lower the bike, the seat height on a le-Mans is very low already. I’m 5’ 10" with short legs and could stand over mine with both feet flat on the floor.
It sounds like you need softer springs rather than shorter shocks. Speak to Hagons about getting new shocks with springs fitted to suit your weight.
Italian bikes had a reputation for rock hard suspension in the 80’s.
10 inches is a lot even if only half is your leg length, I can only get toes on the ground or I have to slide half off the saddle.
So yes I would find it beneficial to lower the beast.
My mk3 lemans has a lower seat, it’s very low, not by choice in my case, look at getting the seat lowered and lighter springs on the shocks , lower shocks are not the answer imho
