Major service suggestions

Hi
Recently rejoined the club and would like some advice? I have a 96 model 1100 sport injection.. I’ve owned the bike for the last 12 years but rarely used it.. I have had numerous services carried out but nothing other than the usual filters, plugs, liquids etc.
Despite little usage I love the bike and recently had a full paint job just to keep it pristine.
I plan on using it this summer and would like advice on what I should ask my technician to carry out ie … I want a FULL overhaul?
Thanking you in anticipation

Steering head bearings, suspension linkages, shaft drive UJ, shaft connections, clutch actuating arm (on the back of the gearbox) are maintenance items that don’t usually get done with a basic service.

Many thanks, much appreciated :+1:

Agree with previous but I just thought about what caught me out with my V11, which I assume has likely similar features. I’d definitely look at and grease the needle roller bearing on the RHS of the bevel box (this can get seized due to water ingress), and I’d re-grease the swing-arm bearings though you will need to engineer some way of supporting the bike while the rear wheel and swing arm ar removed (I made two supports in 12mm plywood supports that bolted to the frame either side to do this). Also check the 30A charging fuse and fuse holder for any signs of overheating. Lastly, if you get it done over the winter and want a goal, I’m trying to organise a MG Sports-bike weekend in Moffat 24-26th April next year; see my Gambalunga letter. n It would be good to see you and your bike there.

Just browsing and wanted to say that is one utterly gorgeous machine! Pure eye candy! Good luck with the service.
