You have become a Sat Nav groupie Ian

Other countries have fab roads, indeed, other countries share the alps… But don’t charge you a years worth of sticker for a couple of days transit thru the flippin place
Yes, all signposts lead to motorways, it’s quite a task to avoid them, even with satnav, as they aren’t signed with a " you need the swiz sticker to drive here" motif, because in theory you are Swiss, thus you should know
33 euro - same cost for a motorcycle as cars & vans up to 3500kg
The advice from a friend who lives in Switzerland is not to buy a vignette if you are just passing through. If caught you’ll just buy one there and then so nothing lost.
I couldn’t possibly say what we did . . .
I’ve both passed through Switzerland on the way to somewhere else, and had whole touring holidays there over the years and never yet purchased a vignette.Just remember it’s opposite to the UK, signs with a background in green are motorways and are to be avoided, blue or white background for every other road is what you want.
The trouble with the Swiss one is they don’t seem to have a short duration one and no concession for motorcycles. I am planning for Swiss, Austria and Czech on my trip, but I have found that for Austria you can get a 10 day bike one for only €4.90’ and for Czech they are not required for bikes. Am tempted to buy only the Austrian one as I will only be transiting Switzerland and will spend no more than 4-6 hours on their roads.
Other problem is where do you display it if you don’t have a screen?
Agreed, and as they run Jan to Dec it’s not as if you can justify it by saying you’ll use it next year.
€33 doesn’t sound much but for 5 of us for a couple of hours the gamble seemed worth it, especially as we hadn’t planned to use the motorways but needed to make up some time after a couple of ‘incidents’.
It’s double sided… You stick to a headlamp
