A question to V7 Stone owners please.
Have any of you used a specialised coating to protect the matte paint job on your fuel tanks and, if is, which one ? Whilst I do want to look after my 2025 V7 Stone petrol tank’s matte silver (erm… ‘Grigio Allumino’ !) paint, I am wondering if the whole nano/ceramic coating thing is a bit of overkill or whether it’s definitely worth doing ? Dr Beasley matter paint protection coating is well-regarded but £60 for 118ml that will do a car 2 or 3 times so is WAY too much for a motorbike petrol tank.
Any views and comments would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Mike
I’ve answered this (similarly) here before in the context of protecting (plain finish) fork leg lowers.
A sculptor friend put me on to ‘Rustins Metal Lacquer’ for protecting plain metal finishes. Doesn’t craze, doesn’t yellow. Might suit your requirements
