I disconnected the battery for about half an hour while fitting a Rapid fuel fixer.
When I reconnected and stared bike all was well until I noticed the mode display had gone haywire, just flashing crazy nonsence. I pressed mode switch, switched ignition on and off nothing seems to work. Anyone had this before ?
Possible that when you reconnected there it was not a clean “off” then “on” . the intermittent voltages as you tightened it may have looked like a signal to one of the vehicle computers and got it confused.
I suggest pull the main fuse. disconnect the battery. Then hold the bike’s positive lead to the bikes earth for a few seconds (10-30) to discharge any capacitors holding a residual charge then reconnect the battery, then insert the main fuse, cross your fingers and switch on
Hi Johnny
Thanks for advice it cleared crazy hieroglyphs I was getting. Now I have a clear screen, tried pressing mode button and switching on motor but no joy. Any other ideas?
Cheers Rick
Have you tried riding it down the road…this happened to a VW golf car one time when I changed the battery. Was advised to drive it a short distance. I did. It worked. Hopefully this trick may sort it for you. Good luck
Thanks Larry
Have not been up the road yet so will see what happens tomorrow
Cheers Rick
