Monza rear brake position

Is there a recommended way to adjust the position of the rear brake pedal on a Monza? The pedal height is far to high for me (2 inches or more), and I can’t see any obvious way of changing the height without bodging a solution! Thanks for any advice/help!

Remove the split pin from the arm that attaches to the master cylinder and withdraw the pin, then loosen the nut at the lower end of the rod (picture) rotate anti clockwise to make the brake pedal lower. Hopefully you’ll have enough thread to lower the pedal.

Thank you Schwerzer, sadly not nearly enough thread to get the pedal to where I want it!! However I think I know someone who could fabricate a longer replacement rod, that might be the answer.

Get it made from stainless, if you can. At the risk of stating the obvious, if it’s too long it can foul against the footpeg.

Where is the bite point? It could be just the stop bolt you need to adjust. It seems odd that the connecting rod isn’t long enough.

There needs to be a bit of free play between the actuating lever and the piston so don’t adjust the pedal stop too much. This is needed so the piston can return fully. You can adjust the free play a bit with the eccentric bolt on the lever pivot on the master cylinder.
