Moto Guzzi Airone

Been offered a choice of Aitones, one a '45 with open valve springs, pressed steel girder forks. The other a '52 sport (painted black and white) The '45 would seem the more interesting but the sport more practicable. Any thoughts please? (can’t afford both sadly)

Jacks a lucky lad !

I have a ‘56 Sport and I love it. It is in unrestored condition and I plan to keep it that way. It starts easily every time runs, steers and stops well. It’s great for sunny weekend rides.
If I were you, I would find the money for the black and white one ( assuming it is not over-priced ). If it’s in good running order, but unrestored, it should be no more than £3,000. However, sometimes what we pay is driven more by emotion than good sense, and I am certainly guilty of this.

Hello Richard, Yes I’m guilty of that as well. Bought the '45 model (they were both the same price as it happened).

Wow; Looks irresistible - which I suppose it was.
