Moto Guzzi Le Mans Front Master Cylinder Rebuild

I have a new replacement piston assembly but to refit it, you need a special tool to form the stop washer into the bore. The tool is listed as part number 18 92 67 00. Does anyone know how to get this tool or how to replicate it with a pipe or something? And how hard to you have to hit it? The master cylinder is the same for Le Mans 1 2 and 3

Many thanks Nick, that is just what I needed for my rebuild too! You couldn’t make it up! :+1:

Hi Nick. That was a brilliant video thanks loads. The problem was that the retaining washer from the old piston was stuck in the bore - the piston came out through it! Once I’d levered that out, the new one went in fine and I was able to use a socket as he did on the video. Really appreciate the help. Thanks.

I can remember using a piece of steel tube, probably bought from B&Q. Tapped in until it stops, there’s a step in the bore I think, it butts up against.
To tap it out in the first place, a piece of steel rod, again probably B&Q.
