Never did a track day until I was 40, been doing them every year since. No plans to change that either.
Just got rid of the over top yoke clip-ons for some that fit under.
Hi, You are probably right and I held your view. However, couple factors have swayed my opinion. Firstly, the price I am getting between the two bike, there is only a £700 difference. Secondly, I used to use my bike to ride into work every day. Now I work from home and go into my office when I want. It’s often once or twice a week. I ride more for pleasure, and I will often ride outside the rush hours.
I am a business man. I normally make rational business decisions. This is not a business decision. This is completely irrational. Something I want to enjoy, I will probably lose money on it. I loved the Stone the first time I looked at it. However, when I looked at both bikes together, I just kept looking at the racer. The best example I can give is like this. Say you know a really pretty. She is genuinely pretty by any standard. However, then you get the supermodel type stand next to her and she looks normal. The V7 Stone will probably hold on to it’s beauty long term. But for whatever reason, the Racer has a lust element to it I cannot rationalise it. Maybe the devil…
If you don’t need to live with it on a daily basis, and you can afford it, why not.
I was going to say get the racer as you will love it but you’ve probably already gone and bought it
The true test of a beautiful vehicle is that once you’ve got off it or out of it you always look back for a last glance…
Alarms
I have one of the talking ones fitted to the V11 and son has one with the pager on his VFR AND it has stopped 2 attempted thefts on his VFR well worth the outlay BUT pay extra to get it fitted.

All the triplets look nice but in my opinion the V7 racer with it’s red frame, polished chromed metal tank, leather tank strap,al alloy rear sets, suede seat trim & black wheel rims give it the edge. It’s the model I bought.
The mock clip on’s aren’t as much as a pain on the wrists as you’d think (no way near as painfull as my old R6 was),and people don’t just look they compliment you.I’ve lost count the amount of times I’ve said ‘thanx’.
I agree that power levels are not everything. My Stelvio (105 bhp claimed) is the most powerful and fastest bike I have ever owned and certainly seems to be as powerful and fast as anyone would ever need. That said, I went out last weekend with a friend on a Fireblade and it suddenly didn’t seem quite so fast!
Nobody really NEEDS more than 105 bhp for normal road use, but it’s nice to have more. My last fast bike was a TL1000S, and I had an FJ1200 way back when. Both 125 bhp; I didn’t NEED that much power, but…
My car at the moment has 480 bhp. I don’t NEED that much power, but…
It’s only when you have power, and to spare, that you realise how much of an immature hooligan you still are… E55KBOF2014-09-29 22:38:05
quite happy with my v35 since i fitted a monza engine, 33bhp to 50 has made for more that enough speed for me!
Did you find / buy your Racer.?? Interested to hear your views… I’ve owned one since new in 2013 and still have it.
