Last month, my brother was away for the weekend, he left his BMW GSA locked, tracked, and with a disc lock fitted, ( wimbledon ) sadly where he was staying in the new forest there was no phone signal, at 3 am the tracker pinged, the reason was the adidas clad scooter riding scum had cut the disc off with a cordless angle grinder, and pushed it away, it was abandoned on the edge of Wimbledon common, and later the scum removed the battery, located the tracker and destroyed it
directly opposite is a large council estate well known for thieving scum, last year they were attacking cyclists in Richmond park, with Machetes and stealing high end cycles
sadly the useless tracking company did not inform the police ?? and the last known location is well know for stolen motorcycles being left there to see if they are tracked, I dont live in London any more, if it was mine I would have been looking for them with a crowbar to break heads
The Met police have done stuff all !
the insurance paid up
My brother has ordered a Brand new V85 with extras , tracker and alarm and steering thing .and paid for it
but heres the rub, no insurance company will quote for him`
he went to an independent broker, but the best quote was £4600, he could afford to insure a five year old one, but at the cost of his R90S when new, so do the insurance companies not like them, ? or is it Mayors Khans Lawless shitehole that causes the problem ? , so if any body wants a V85 he will take a loss to shift it on
myself I am not too impressed with insurance companies, after a head on collision with a texting idiot, all captured by the on board camera system and telematics, I spent weeks telling people to get stuffed
first of all enterprise car hire wanted me to sign a credit agreement for a hire car
told them I dont want or need one, I have a pushbike, or use the bus or walk
turned out that it is another company fronting and using their name and raking in their 40 percent
then another bunch of clowns ring up wanting to take my car for assessment 3 miles ( it still drove perfectly, just bent) of course they charge 200 quid for the lowloader
then several other companies got involved giving me hassle, and finally offering settlement, but only at the price a car would cost in a private sale ???
I did explain that I never buy a car privately as their are too many wheeler dealers on dodgy estates flogging heaps of junk
to humour them I took three weeks and looked at so many mis-described cars, piles of parts laying in front gardens and badly sprayed panels, that I gave up in case I beat one of them to death
went to a nice dealer I knew and paid a bit above the market price for a decent car with warranty and FSH
I am still arguing with the insurance company over my other costs, replacement telematics, camera system, roof rails, etc
its getting to the stage where I might give up with a car, or insure it third party only
all of the insurance companies it seems sell your information on and use third party companies who add to the bill
plus electric cars being written off, have put the prices up
stuff that I bought a diesel
ps my old car, ex police with a full service history was flogged at auction and is now a minicab in Leeds , ( the telematics were left on for 2 months )
and the other driver was deemed responsible for the accident, guess who is making lots of money ??
