Nevada IE indicators - today I learnt

Having suffered a number of indicator mount failures on my Nevada as they are so brittle, I noticed the V7ii has a flexi-stork and decided to upgrade my Nevada’s all round.
Gutsibits duely supplied the set in the week and today I set about changing them out. However, on the Nevada the loom is fitted with 4 male twin connectors. It appears a V7ii loom is fitted with two males on the front right and rear left, but female connectors on the left front and right rear. After some splicing, heat shrink and soldering my Nevada now has V7ii indicators. Looks great, but just thought I would warn others, that which should be a simple swap is actually a RPITA.

V7 850 (‘E5’) is like this as well, and the connectors are different again! (Black not white and different shape.) Impossible to find singly (or I couldn’t) so I had to cut them off and solder them to the replacement lamps, that’s when I noticed the male/female left/right thing. Apparently (from Internet searches) these mini twin plug/socket connectors for indicators are quite common on modern bikes and they all seem to be different designs! RPITA is right. :grinning:
