Hi,
I am planning on coming back to riding soon, unfortunately unable to ride at the moment due to persistent vertigo over the last few months, but hopeful with treatment things will get better. I used to own a Stelvio many years ago and loved the Guzzi character, had some good times at the now defunct Corsa Italiana and lots of great chats with Baldrick, but I’m now more about relaxed riding on a smaller, lower and lighter bike, and the V7 is top of the list. I’m not sure about whether a Stone or Special would suit me better. I love the look of the Special but not keen on tubed wheels, but also not as taken with the colours and especially the matt finish on the Stone, but I guess there’s not much in it with price or looks really. In this age of ever increasing prices I’m amazed the V7 is still sub-£9K and still made in Mandello del Lario.
Whilst I’m still off the bike, what bike dealers in Surrey, Hampshire or Sussex would people recommend? I know In Moto are closest to me but the location isn’t very nice and when looking at the various brands in the past I’ve been ignored and had poor experiences so would be happier to look further afield.
Ride safe,
Mat

Hi Mat welcome! I hope you’re well enough to get back on a bike very soon. I have the V7 Special and I love the gloss finish over the matte look of the stone. I detail vehicles so never liked matte finishes as you can’t polish them and they require their own special detailers/waxes etc to avoid ruining the finish. I too was concerned re tubes tyres but (touch wood) haven’t had any issues. I live in Scotland so sadly can’t help re local dealers but hope you’re on a Guzzi very soon. All the best.

That’s very kind, thank you. Very strange, from being a very confident rider suddenly I couldn’t even sit on a bike. Still, time is a great healer. Glad to hear you’re loving your special, I must say that it’s the one that is tugging at the heart strings!

Well there you have it. Go with your heart! You know it makes sense!
