New member in Cleveland, N. Yorks.

Hello Everyone,

I’m happy to join the site as a new member who is not new to MOTO GUZZI motorcycles. I previously owned a 1979 1000SP and a 1978 T3 many years ago. Now I have bought a V9 Roamer and couldn’t be happier to be returning to GUZZI ownership.

I’ve had the bike three weeks and covered around 550 miles so far, mostly riding down the coast road to Whitby for breakfast and pottering back round the North Yorks Moors before starting my working day.

I also took my lovely wife (DurhamLass) to a local bikers wedding at the Estonians MCC Kindred Spirits Rally a fortnight ago and she loves the bike too.

I’m looking forward to chatting with you all, and swapping tales of rideouts and maintenance. Cheers! - Rog

Thanks Chris, I’ll try to make it to the Victoria on the 3rd if the weather is ok. Is there anywhere nearby to camp overnight?

Hi Rog. I don’t know of anything in Wetwang itself, but Seaways Café at Fridaythorpe just up the road have tent pitches and glamping pods if that helps. It will be great to see you.

A friend has a white Roamer - Great Bike!

If yours is the grey Roamer from Teasdale, you’ve got a good ‘un!

It is that grey Roamer. Please tell me what you know about it.

I’m a big-block Guzzi fan since 1997 - still have 3… I had a Breva 750 for a couple of years, and wasn’t over-keen on it. My friend with the white Roamer had - still has - a V7 - I think the second iteration. A nice bike once he’d upgraded the rear shocks. He bought the Roamer about three years ago, and we’ve toured together since then (we’re from the IoM, so we don’t get away as often as we’d like!). he always tours the Roamer. It has never missed a beat, is comfortable, and he loves it. I looked yours over when I was in Teasdale in late August with my mate. They seem like a good firm to deal with. The bike was very clean, low mileage and - for me - one of the two best colours for the Roamer (I love the green!). I nearly bought it…. I have too many bikes, but am intending to downsize next year, and the Roamer is one of the bikes I’ll be looking at to replace two-or-three outgoing bikes. Enjoy yours!

I sold 4 bikes before downsizing in April to a smaller house with no cellars and a single garage. I bought a low mileage Honda CL500 to bop around the North Yorks Moors gravelly farm roads and use as an all-rounder.

Then I got a job which requires me to travel a bit further and faster, and I decided to PX the Honda for a Guzzi. Tried the V7 but found better clearance between shins and cylinders on the Roamer. Loving the bike. It’s grunty enough low down for easing up the steep hills, and pulls strongly enough from 70 to 90 on the faster roads to breeze past the traffic. Hardly weighs any more than the Honda either, same wheelbase length. Good bike.
