New member - South London

Hello, I am ashamed to say I have been a member since some time last year, after I bought some sort of Tonti thing last April, from PM Motorcycles in Harleston, Norfolk. I say ‘thing’ as I don’t really know what it is, although I am not bothered exactly what it is. It was advertised as a ‘trick’ Guzzi, although by ‘trick’ I think what was meant was that it is a bit of a bitsa - having been owned at one time by a round-the-world person (I have forgotten his name - not sure if it is Kev Browne, and the bike had been in the north-east for a while). The log book states it is a Le Mans, first registered in mid-1978, but I am not sure what is Le Mans about it. According to an excellent Dutch website, the frame is a Convert prefix (predating the first G5), and the engine is a T3, but I believe bored to 950cc. It has bell-mouth 40mm pumpers and…well, I could go on. It is high mileage (but which bits have done the high mileage I am not sure) and so far I have replaced the speedo drive (after getting a ticket…), the rear light and I also need to replace the rear diff large seal (I have burped it to no effect). I do like it - it is more tired than it looks in the photos - and I must do more miles than I did on it last year (about 500 - what a wimp). Any comments gratefully received!

Your last two photos appear the same, I have been trying to spot the difference but have not won a major prize yet! Would you like me to remove on for you?

Best wishes Chris

Looks good, you may have the aluminium tank. Guzzi’s are good for high mileages, fancy going to the factory next year - organised by the town and usually in mid -Sept. i’m hoping to meet up with guys from Scotland at some point on the trip. i have been down there many times, so know a few of the passes.
I have a LeMans too! Looks early with the brake calipers on the front of the forks.
