Hello Everybody

I’ve taken up motorcycles again in my mid seventies. I’ve never owned a Moto Guzzi before, so I’m thrilled to be the proud owner of a 2006 750 ie Breva.

I started my motorised two wheel journey on a Vespa 42L2, Triumph Tigress, Nortons (Jubilee, Navigator and 650SS). Also various Hondas and a Yamaha to arrive at my MG.

I’m loving riding it. The flexibility of the engine is outstanding.

Bye for now.

Big welcome to the Forum and congrats on return to two wheels an your prime!!

I’m just wondering how much more time I’ve got at the same age! The thrill and the joy is still there, the aches and pains are optional extras! Ride safe!

Meant to say yesterday I’d noted our absence on the sticker boards at The Welly so rectified that with one of ours. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Thank you.

I’ve still got to get my brain back into it. So a two hour run out leaves me quite shattered. Also, it seems that I can’t travel anywhere without a satnav. Luckily I bought a reasonably priced Zumo2 on eBay.

Safe riding.

Nice! Welcome back. :joy:

Highly recommend that you find out where your most local branch meets and pop along. There’s always a tip or two to be shared.

Forget about the Satnav. You’ll quickly discover that riding a Moto Guzzi is about going to the shops for a pint of milk and returning home, later that evening without the milk, but a head full of new memories, scenic views, chats with strangers, visits to random villages, and an ice cream at some random car park.

Thank you Barry.

I will definitely take you advice about a local branch. And forgetting the milk!

Welcome to the forum.

Hi there Graham, I’m also mid seventies, started out on a Vespa 125. I bought my Breva 750 ie 3 years ago and love riding it. Not the most powerful bike but the engine and handling are great. Hope your Breva gives you as much pleasure as mine does.

Grahame

Thank you both.

I hope I’m not too much off topic to reminisce that the Vespa cost a whole £5.

Almost as soon as I got it I donned my crash helmet (not legally strictly necessary, but Mum insisted), and departed from Liverpool where I lived to go to visit a friend in Northallerton.

I suspect I was more intrepid then than I am now.

Happy riding one and all!
