Took delivery of my new (well, new to me) 2025 V85TT. Can’t wait to go out and put the bike through its paces.
Got a quick query.
When I started the bike and left it running for a little bit on the drive, there is some spluttering from the joint between the exhaust and the Cat (I think). Just wanted to m ow if anyone else had had this? I’m onto the dealer to see what they think. But thought I’d but feelers out on here.
I do have a video I’ve taken but cannot upload it onto here
Any thoughts appreciated
I’m not sure if it’s just a case of tightening up the clip around the joint
So managed to get out on a ride yesterday. Started the bike up and had the spluttering as expected. Rode for about 30-40 mins and when stopped looked to see if there was still any water pooling, and nothing.
So… is this a deliberate design to allow any water that has developed when the exhaust has cooled down and any water built up, or any moisture build up while stored in garage? Which upon start up and cold exhaust, the water finds its way out of the clamp point. Then following the heating and expansion of the exhaust any “gap” for water is closed?
Got me wondering if pre your getting the bike someone has been over zealous with a hose pipe and got water through the muffler? Found the lowest point and now getting blown out. If you’ve got no more drips might have evaporated by now but still might check the seating of that joint and retorque judiciously.
