I have just recently bought a 2012 Norge 8V GT. It starts ok, then runs lumpily at low revs, if I open it up past 4k it runs fine, but at lower power it stutters and pops. Before I start to disassemble, would anyone have any quick ideas? Oh and the previous owner had just done the rollerisation conversion. Thanks!
It could well be throttle synchronisation.
But (you probably know this) the TPS is on the right hand throttle body and the cable goes to the left one. So if the linkage between right and left is ‘adjusted’ the ecu no longer knows where the left hand choke is for any given tps output. So do not adjust that screw!
Pete Roper writing on GRiSO Ghetto https://www.grisoghetto.com/ has written a simple step by step ‘how to tune’
Hi, can’t seem to get into that forum to check it out… just registered and it won’t play!
without a diagnostic tool, is there a way of checking it is that?
And then what diagnostics tool should I get, seems there is a download and some kit to get?
Guzzi-Diag from here https://www.von-der-salierburg.de/download/GuzziDiag/. Mark/Beetle on GRiSO Ghetto has information about the wires/plugs etc they are not expensive
GRiSO Ghetto will help anyone with a CARC bike. Some of the experts can be a bit abrasive because they have given the same advice many times - but they are very helpful. It may take a bit of time to approve your application. Look for posts by Pete Roper about mechanicals and carb synchronisation and my Mark or ‘Beetle’ about guzzi diag and ignition maps Kiwi Roy & Kiwi Dave about general wiring, Paul Brice about suspension
