Well only had the Norge for a few weeks, but so taken with Moto Guzzi I test rode the Mandello V100 last week and I am about to buy one. What a great bike it is. I have sold the Ducati and hope to have the new to me Mnadello in White with Panniers next week. I considered the S, but I had adaptive suspension for the first time on a Multidtrada and did not notice a massive benefit. I doubt my talent will outstrip even the base suspension. I will put a quick shifter and heated grips on. Really looking forward to it. There will be a lovely 23k 8V 2013 Norge for sale soon.
That confirms that you have contracted the disease
Hi Pax
congrats on the Mandello. Regarding the heated grips just be aware the Guzzi ones are mediocre at best. I have been told it is possible to fit non Guzzi ones to the bike and still use the Mandello’s control system to run them. Ive got an S and to be honest the quickshifter isnt the greatest. Its only really usefull 4-5-6 gears. In any thing lower its just clunky.
Thanks for that, I will live without the shifter for a while. My last two bikes had one and I really like them and my clutch hand suffers on long trips. I will put the Oxford pro heated grips on, I put them on my Ducati and they are really good. Its all integrated into the grip so no big controller and connect directly to the battery. They have an auto current detect and shut off when there is no current going through the bike. I highly recommend them.
How many miles on it so far? I’m wondering if quickshifters get smoother over time like the manual gear changes do
Its a good question, I test rode an S with 1600 miles and the shifter was ok. None of them like 1-2 so I always clutch that anyway. My Ducati one is pretty good and that needs a clutch 1-2 & 2-1
You can just use the heated grips with out controller and the Mandello’s computer will pick them up and they can be controlled just like the OEM ones
Ive got 6000 my bike now and the shifter pretty much feels the same.
