Hi folks.
Bought a Cali 2 at auction with Hedingham sidecar. Am trying to locate various parts to get it through MOT.
Presently ‘stuck’ with the rear brake master cylinder. The numbers 20A4 15 are on the part. I think I need a repair kit for this as the brake pedal presses OK and then it fades off.
Also I need a rev counter cable. None of the usual suppliers have one as far as I can see.
Finally is there a paint code for the Guzzi brown for my bike?
Hope there is someone out there who can point me in the right direction. I really want to get this rolling as I can’t ride a big bike anymore. Age-illness-balance-doctors advice!!!
Thanks Ray Pearson
Have you tried any of the European suppliers - HMB, Stein Dinse, Teo Lamers etc.
I have sometimes found parts with one of them when no success in UK.
there are companies out there that will make you a rev counter cable
speedy cables is one I think
Speedy Cables are very good, I have used them to rebuild my clocks, I have not used them to supply or make cables for me, in the past I have used the normal Guzzi parts suppliers and when I have changed the handlebars just asked for longer (or shorter) ones.
In my experience the word speedy is not quite accurate but their work certainly is!
Thanks to those who have replied so far. I’ll try what has been suggested and report back.
It’s good to feel part of a community that loves the non mainstream way of getting around on two (or three) wheels. Keep chugging along!
Try Ducati Paddy for the rear master cylinder repair kit, I got one of him a couple of months ago. It should be 15mm from memory. You will need this one
Interesting that you have an 89 Cali 2. My Cali is a mk3 model and is 1988.
Hi Duke, I had a 600 monster as my last riding bike, 5 years ago. Now on a sidecar journey. I have a "Complete book of Motoguzzi 'by Falloon. It states the Cali 2 stopped production in 1987 supplying 518 bikes. So you’re right. This one could have been sat in a showroom and only first registered in 1989.
Thanks for the tip I’ll look into it.
Ray
Hi Ray.
I have a Rev Counter Cable in stock if you still need one. £13.00 + £3 shipping.
The Guzzi color Code for the brown of your bike is 350 (Lechler Formula 17311)
Sorry, no PS 15’s at the moment
Regards, Nik
Hi Nik,
Super helpful thanks.
I’ll take the rev cable please.
Great help with the colour code.
Got my PS 15 on it’s way to Paddy Ducati to fit a repair kit for me.
My experience with forums in the past has been negative.
The responses I have received with the Guzzi forum have turned that on its head.
Thank you so much.
Got to rush out for covid jab but let me know how to pay you for the cable.
Do I put my address on the forum so you can post it. I’ve no issues doing that but is it wise?
Thanks again,
Ray
