'Project' 2012 1200 8V Norge GT (Rollerised).

Hi all.

I’ve had to admit I need to cut down on the number of my ‘Project’ Bikes I was planning to work on in my retirement. :slightly_frowning_face:

One of the ‘casualties’ is the 2012 8V Norge GT that I picked up a couple of years ago.

It was a ‘stolen-recovered’ salvage Bike, which I wanted for two reasons, well three, but it being a Guzzi goes without saying obviously!

1. I wanted to swap it’s Gearbox into my Stelvio, for the slightly higher Gear Ratio in top.

2. It’s a ‘Roller’ Engine.

It started fine and ran nicely when I got it, it’s on 47,700 miles.

Mechanically fairly OK, Plastics not so good, some damaged, some missing.

A couple of the Rear Wheel’s Disc Mounting holes have been damaged in an attempt to remove seized Bolts by a previous owner, should be repairable by welding, machining, re-drilling and tapping, or they can be picked up second-hand reasonably cheaply.

Has two original Factory Keys.

Would like to see it kept running and on the road in some form (few enough still out there) rather than broken for spares, but I understand that’s not always a realistic option.

I don’t have the time or the space to dismantle any of it, need it gone as a ‘whole’ Bike now.

Located nr Slough, S. Bucks.

Message me directly if interested.

Thanks.

Hi

Is the project still available and could you send me some pictures of this project. I already have a 1200 Sport but would like another more touring bike. Do you have the proof of rollerisation. I’m up in Lancashire so would have to factor getting it here. Please could you inform me of any major missing/ damaged components. Regards Peter

I still have it Peter, but I’m not sure it would be the right Bike for what you want.

I have one other person interested, I’ve messaged him to ask if he’s definitely going to take it.

To put it back to standard would be fairly costly, just for the Fairing and other Plastics it would need.

Plastics would be fairly hard to find as well I would think, someone came a long way last year just to pick up the front Fairing Section and Dash Panel that they needed for their Norge.

I wasn’t bothered about the cosmetics, as my rough plan was to to do away with as much of the Bodywork as possible (these Engines deserve to be seen  ).

Hi

I had a two point plan of attack. I quite fancied to use the rolling gear in a long distance tourer project and any bits left over either spares for the sport or help someone else out. When you see what is there, your vision changes. I know of an 1100 Breva but the late 1200 would be preferred as I have one! Keep me posted.
