Has anyone fitted the small pyramid mudguard for the v85tt that mounts to the brake calipers ? Does it help ? If it just stops splatter onto the front of the engine i might give one a go. Cheers Mark
I have one fitted to mine. Helps keep some muck of the front of the engine but not perfect. For me anything that keeps the crud off while in the peak district has got to be worth a go. Really easy to fit,
Michael.
It definitely helps
I see powerbronze make one too, anyone got one fitted and thoughts ?

So after a bit of use, whats the verdict on these?
Ill be getting my V85TT next week and want a bit of extra protection at the front.
I have the caponord mudguard and the pyramid plastics extender, they do reduce the spray a bit but not entirely, you still get some water thrown up over the tank even with it on and a bit of crap on the generator cover.
however your bike has a different tank design to mine, following their redesign after complaints about turbulence. you might find the water coming up over the tank issue is solved. when turning there will probably still be spray out the sides hitting thr generator cover, but it is much less than with no extender.
edit: if you’re not getting a caponord mudguard and extender, but the mini one posted at top of this thread, it might not spray out the sides at all. also, I think the smaller one looks better if you are keeping the ‘beak’. I’ve seen the set up I have with the beak removed and that looks ok, but it kind of looks belts and braces with a caponord mudguard and beak still attached
