Reverting to stock airbox and filter

My 1973 Eldorado has been fitted with K&N air filters by a previous owner.
However, I do have the original air filter housing, and am just missing the filter itself, the air box cover, an the rubber boot to connect it to the carbs. Of these the air box cover seems to be the hardest to find, but I think I’ve located two Italian suppliers who have the in stock.

Just wondering if anyone has gone back from individual filters to the stock system, and how it might affect performance.

Also, has anyone had dealings with an Italian company called Stucchi ?

They have the parts, and an English language option on their website, and they seem to be only an hour’s drive from Mandello Del Lario

If the PO adjusted the jetting to cope with the K&N you may need to go back to standard.

If they had not changed the slides or needle position it will probably run better on the original filter.

Haven’t used Stucchi but they have a good reputation

Thanks.
The previous history of the bike is unknown, so I’ll have to investigate further.

If I am searching for a part, I do a google search for Guzzi and the part number, it often comes up with a few suppliers. I did this to find an air filter for my Stornello and I found out that a Fiat 126 uses the same filter, easily obtained off ebay in this country

Hi,
I have a Convert 1000 that came my way some years ago. P.O. had replaced stock air filter with a lash up of parts and a generic pod filter. I thoroughly rebuilt the carbs and replaced all jets etc. I replaced the air filter with a K&N one, the one that is designed to fit the Guzzi. I was disappointed with the result, the carbs were fluffy and there was an annoying whistling sound at certain revs.
After a long hunt on Ebay, I sourced up the original parts to make up the airfilter and airbox. Now the engine responds better and sounds quieter. There’s no annoying whistling and there’s a bit more urge on acceleration. I am happy with this now.

The T3 & T4 air filter is currently on Ebay at £24 including postage from RIcambi Scooter and Moto. Search for " 264132#5 Air Filter Moto Guzzi 850 T3 T4"
