Is there a trick to getting the rubber manifolds on securely? The throttle bodies are bolted to a bar, and as soon as I get one side on, the other wants to pop off, or is a real pig to get on I think that the split rubber may have been the culprit for the malfunction, but I’m really struggling with fitting the new pair.
Put em in hot water for 30 mins before fitting. Fit front first then cobble up,carefully, some strong cord around the throttle bodies and lever them on. Worked for me, don’t use any lube.I assume you have pushed the airbox rubbers back into the airbox.
Well, I’ve got them on, with much sweat and cursing. However, the left one hasn’t fully pushed home, so I’m going to apply a little heat with a hairdryer and gentle brute force! It looks as if it was the problem as it started and ran without missing a beat (fingers crossed)
How did you get on?I’ve just sorted mine: It backfired a couple of times on start-up and popped the body backward into the air box- didn’t realise 'till it stopped running correctly thru the left side due to air leakage/bad seal.Easy fix- just slackened off the clips and pulled the whole thing forwards.Stew
