What do you want - repro of original or just something functional or decorative?
The profile is lower than the ones normally found, I want it to follow the original profile and shape. Don’t want anything fancy, just functional.
I had my G5 seat recovered by Geoff Bennett in Newton Abbot. He offered lots of options, from the purely functional to the ultra-bling. In the end I went for a combination of two vinyl textures and colour-matched thread detailing. He did a superb job and charged peanuts.
Looks great, it goes together well, I’ll give him a call.
I use Mick the Seat in Marks Tey, near Colchester; but I guess that is too far for you?
I used a seat cover from a V50 for my 1978 Spada and it was an exact match. The guy that made the cover just left a bit of extra vinyl on the front to form the bit that goes up onto the tank. The cover was made by Bob the seat but he has since retired and his business has been taken over by someone else. They don’t list Guzzi but apparently have all the press frames from Bob so should be able to do one if you ask.
This is the new seat cover, I had it fitted by G A Wells in Shepshed near Loughborough.
I always use leightons they were in Birmingham but I see they are now in Aldridge 01922 277 550 regards Jem Starkey
Thanks, I’m looking into carriage cost as there is not much going in my area.
That is the seat shape that I want, with the wrap around the tank. Do you have a contact for the company that you mention?
I shall contact Saddle Craft, they look promising too.
Thanks.
That seat style is correct for the early Spada models. The later Spada NT may be different.
These are the details for the company that fitted the cover for me.

There is a very good upholstery place in Baldock Herts just down the road from you, does a lot of custom work, sorry can’t recall the name but a quick search on Google should bring it up
Have you tried contacting Moto Stitch in Northborough? I’ve had no dealings with them, so can’t actually recommend them, they are very local to Peterborough though.
