Dear reader, I’m seeking some assistance regarding the fitting of the pannier rack to a California Aquila Nera 2010 model year.
I recently acquired a set of Hepco & Becker hard cases and mounting brackets from a California 1100 and am in the process of adapting the brackets to fit my Aquila Nera.
I’m trying to determine if the brackets run front to rear in a ‘parallel’ fashion or if they follow the line of the frame in the sense that the rear end of the brackets taper inwards. I’ve tried the latter but it makes the front of the cases ‘splayed’ outwards at the front.
If you mean how the brackets sit on a 1100, I think they are parallel, so dont stick out. I can check for definite when I get home on Friday.
No experience of an aquila
Thank you Mr_P but I’m more interested on how the bracket sit on an Aquila Nera.
I can see that the 1100 brackets are fastened with substantial bolts but looking at the Hepco Becker fitting instructions, the brackets seem to fit closer to the tyre.
No worries. By the way I did a search for the Aquila out of curiosity and it bought up the Hepco & Becker site. The pannier frames there look very different to the 1100i that I have.
