Next mg-h outing is on the 18th September.
It’s a rather nice tour of roads which avoid the NC500 as much as is practicable.
This is different from the mg-h newsletter route.
r.v. on the 18th September is the V8 cafe in the Longman Industrial Estate at 10:15, for a 10:30 start.
Route:
A9 north from Inverness, over the Struie to Bonar Bridge, onto Lairg for coffee at the Pier. Then A838 to Laxford Junction, and south on A894 to Kylesku Hotel: lunch.
After lunch south onto the A837 towards Ullapool and back east.
The A835 takes to 2 kms east of Contin where the A832 goes to Muir of Ord, Remain on the A862 along the Beauly Firth south side until reaching Inverness. Just before crossing the Caledonian Canal, go right via Kinmylies and join the A82, at canal bridge roundabouts take the Inverness bypass, A8082, to skirt south of the city.
Fuel & cheerie byes at Tescos Inshes just west of the A9 about 4pm.
This is a longish day - a 200 miler. More details on the branch FB page and in bcc’d email to local members.
If you are contemplating coming along be advised Wednesday noon (tomorrow!) is the last call for me making a reservation.
