Sidestand switch cable plug location V7 850

Hi. I’m thinking of.carrying a side stand switch eliminator as part of my toolkit just in case the worst happens. Does anyone know where the plug for the sidestand switch is located? I’ve tried to follow the cable up from the switch but the cable disappears behind the starter motor and I’ve no idea where it goes after that. Thanks
Tony

Underneath rear of fuel tank - get a male mini-connector plug and terminals, and make it up with a simple wire loop, and replace rhe sidestand swtich plug with it. (The OEM plug on mine is blue.)

It’s not difficult to raise the rear of the tank, have a block of wood or similar to prop it up.

I disabled mine because I don’t like how the switch hangs under the bottom frame rail, perfectly placed to catch all the dirty road spray! And that there has to be continuity for normal riding, so if it goes open-circuit you’re stranded. You can start the engine in neutral, but not ride it (engine cuts out in gear).

Brilliant! Thanks Mike. That is a huge help - I now know what plug I’m looking for - thanks for the photos. I was going to buy a £20 plug-in unit from eBay but if it just needs a plug with a wire loop that seems nice and simple to make.
Many thanks again
