I made one for my SP1000 many years ago from some small Japanese bike, this might give you an idea. The rear of it is bolted to the pannier frame. The front of it was cut and an L shape bracket welded on that bolts to the end of the frame tubes.

Try and find the kappa rack which attaches to my wing rack type pannier holders (but can’t see it anywhere).
Find a rack like yours which I can modify.
There’s a local guy who fabricates in s.s fairly local to me.
..or someone has one they’ll sell me.

I think you’ve done a very neat job there btw.
I’ll not be riding for a few weeks due to a new hip, so I’ll have plenty of time to mull it over.

I did see Hepco & Becker still list a rack for 1980 SP1000. Cant vouch for it bug you may be interested.
