I have a lovely shiny moto gadget clock which makes the speedo and tacho drives surplus to requirements. I have removed the drives and taken them to several nut’n’bolt shops to find a bolt to use to blank off the holes but no one seems able to match the pitch. Any ideas apart form shaving down a wine cork??
err I dunno, but i figure that i am going to run into the same problem,
it’s probably a metric fine thread, and a decent size, you can buy plastic bungs in various sizes, of the type that fit into the end of tubing,
or you can wait until I sort mine out and I will make a spare one,
that should not be to long, the only thing I am lacking is a threading tool, and hex bar,
and of course the experiance of doing it!

What you need are thread pitch gauges to measure the pitch and vernier calipers to measure the diameter (or you need someone who has these vital tools). If they are in aluminium I would doubt that the pitch is metric fine as it would strip too easily.
As I thought, it’s a metric fine thread, it’s 16mm by 1.5mm,
hard to find, but used in some sump plugs!

I did try looking for bolts, but they were to long and about £7.50 eachianboydsnr2014-09-15 14:30:37
My T3Cali has a factory fitted plug for the tacho.
If it’s useful I can measure it p.
It’s made of brass.
All the best
Steve
Thanks for the info. I’m going to buy a couple of the cheap ones and see how I get on
Bit of neatly applied black/clear silicone?
Sorry to hijack, well a partial hijack.
Firstly I’m interested in this solution as I’m fitting a Motogadget speedo, so Ian I’m interested to see how you get on.
Secondly, anyone recommend someone with experience of fitting Motogadget equipment?
There’s a couple of threads on Advrider,

Steve Hallam if Croydon’s not too far. A wiring legend!
Thank you for that. In looking for Steve Hallam, I’ve seen mention of Paul in Cuffley.
Anyone heard of him, I’d like contact details.
Only because it’s much nearer though.
Cheers
